Bookstore plans giveaway

Nonprofit organizations and schools can benefit from a children's book giveaway next week.
Half Price Books, 1551 W. 86th St., will give away 6,529 books as part of the 12th Half Pint Library book collection, said Kara Hanko, event spokeswoman.

Although the book collection is in its 12th year, this is the first time for a giveaway like this, Hanko said. Any nonprofit organization, school, teacher or volunteer from across the city can pick up free books from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. April 14, Hanko said.

To receive books, fill out a form from www.halfpricebooks.com/pdf/hpl_donation_form.pdf and bring it to the pick-up site, Hanko said. Each group will receive at least two boxes of books. It is first come, first served.

The books were donated at Indianapolis area stores during the Half Price Books Half Pint Library Book Drive.
