year’s institute features two outstanding keynotes and 14 national, regional
and local presenters. The ITSI Institute focuses exclusively on infants and
toddlers, with tracks for leadership, child care & education and early
intervention.
Thursday,
August 1, 2013: Kathleen Goouch-Reader in Education at Canterbury Christ Church University
in England.
Kathy’s research work
particularly focuses on adult/child interactions, play narratives and early
literacy development. Her latest publication (with Project
co-director and co-author Sacha Powell) is The Baby Room, Principles, Policy
and Practice.
Friday,
August 2, 2013: Peter Mangione-Co-Director of
WestEd's Center for Child and Family Studies. Dr. Mangione
provides leadership in the development of comprehensive training resources for
infant and toddler caregivers and the evaluation of early childhood programs
and services. His contributions have helped make the Program for Infant/Toddler
Care a national model for training early childhood practitioners.
