Council for Professional Recognition - D.C. to Your Door!
You may be familiar with the term “CDA” (Child Development Associate), but you may not know why the CDA is so valuable, what it means, how to attain it, or who makes decisions about awarding it. The Council for Professional Recognition oversees the CDA process, and promotes improved performance and recognition of professionals working with children birth to five year of age in early childhood centers, family child care homes, and as home visitors. To meet the growing need for qualified child care staff, the Council administers the Child Development Associate (CDA) National Credentialing Program. The CDA Program is designed to assess and credential early child care and education professionals based on performance.
